Scenario

A grieving therapist starts telling his clients exactly what he thinks

Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making big changes in people’s lives, including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” share the best moments that defined their characters in Season 1 and reveal who has the best Harrison Ford impression. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and that he was going to audition people similar to Ford.

Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least get him to Ford first, thinking he would immediately turn him down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was brought onto the project, generating interest from other notable actors. In the end, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was elated nonetheless.

Two episodes are now out and this show shows a lot of promise, the chemistry between the characters is infectious and even weird at times… it’s comforting in ways that most shows aren’t, only reminiscent of the show Community for these elements. I’m not sure if this accurately depicts the way a therapist deals with problems, but it sure leaves room for Jason Segel to put his own spin on it. Rhodes, Jason’s boss and mentor.

What I’m seeing here feels so vivid and the possibilities maybe (?) endless as I watch Jimmy navigate these things

I wasn’t sure how his character was going to work on this show, but Rhodes’ antisocial likeness certainly fits a personality Ford knows pretty well when thinking about the more squeamish elements of his Han Solo character in Star Wars, it just fits like a glove on this show. In some all too relatable ways, Sean (Luke Tennie) plays a son figure of sorts to Jimmy (Segel) as he deals with his own family issues with his daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell)… By the way, the intro theme for this show is so good, I didn’t even skip it when I watched the second episode…

And the music in this show is so good

Overall, this is turning out to be a wonderful show and I hope it only keeps getting better from here.
